Trading fees
Every trade pays a small fee. Raydium, which runs the curve and the pool, takes its part first. What remains is split 50/50 into a protocol fee and a creator fee, before graduation and after it.
01 · At a glance
02 · Before graduation
While a coin is on its bonding curve, every buy and every sell pays the fee the creator chose at launch: 1%, 2%, 3%, 4%, 5%. Raydium takes 0.25% of the trade, and the rest is split 50/50: half is the protocol fee, half is the creator fee.
| Fee | Raydium | Protocol fee | Creator fee |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1% | 0.25% | 0.375% | 0.375% |
| 2% | 0.25% | 0.875% | 0.875% |
| 3% | 0.25% | 1.375% | 1.375% |
| 4% | 0.25% | 1.875% | 1.875% |
| 5% | 0.25% | 2.375% | 2.375% |
The fee is included in the amount the site shows before a trader signs. A higher fee raises the creator fee on every trade; a lower one is cheaper for traders. The fee is fixed at launch and cannot be changed afterwards.
03 · After graduation
When the curve raises its target, the coin graduates: its liquidity moves to a Raydium pool and is locked forever. From then on the fee chosen at launch no longer applies. Every swap on the pool pays a fixed 1.25%, whether it is made on this site, on Jupiter or on Raydium itself.
| Fee | Where it goes | Arrives |
|---|---|---|
| 1% trading fee | Raydium keeps 5% of it | ~0.95% |
| 0.25% pool fee | Raydium keeps 0.04%; the rest is earned by the locked liquidity | ~0.21% |
| Total | Split 50/50 into the protocol fee and the creator fee | ~1.16% |
The figures are approximate because the locked liquidity grows over time, which slightly changes how the pool fee is shared. Swaps made through this site also pay an extra 1% protocol fee, on top of the 1.25%. Swaps made elsewhere do not.
04 · Where the creator fee goes
The creator fee is not only for the creator. At launch, the creator chooses how it is shared, under “Where your fees go” on the create page. The same split applies before and after graduation.
| Creator | Sent to the creator, or shared across up to 10 addresses the creator chooses. |
| Dividend | Paid once a day to the coin's holders in proportion to what they hold at that day's snapshot. A position needs to be worth about $20 to qualify. |
| Buyback and burn | Buys the coin on the market and burns it, which lowers the supply. |
| Liquidity | Adds the coin and its pair to the locked Raydium pool, which deepens it permanently. Before graduation it builds up and is added once the pool exists. |
Anything left unallocated goes to the creator. The split is fixed at launch, so holders can trust it will not change after they buy. The creator can still change which of their own addresses receive the creator part.
05 · How fees are paid
- Automatically. Fees are collected every few minutes and pushed to every recipient. Nobody has to claim anything.
- In the coin's pair. A coin priced in SOL pays in SOL, a coin priced in USDC pays in USDC, and so on.
- Once it is worth sending. A payment goes out when a balance passes about $2 for the creator and holders, and about $5 for buyback and liquidity. Smaller amounts are never lost: they carry over to the next payment.
06 · Other costs
| Launching a coin | No launch fee. The creator pays only Solana's network costs, plus their first buy if they make one. |
| Network fees | Every Solana transaction pays a small network fee, plus a priority fee so it lands quickly. These go to Solana's validators, not to the protocol. |
